how to check the consistency of Nutella frosting:-

Baker does this, and now you can also do this consistency check using a spatula to check whether your frosting is smooth or not or is it enough to hold the shape after applying.

I do this for every frosting recipe because it helps me make the right frosting for my cupcake. To test, just press your spatula in the frosting and lift straight up.

Examine the frosting on the tip of the spatula with the correct side up. The frosting should form a soft peak with a slight curl on the end. If you find a slight curl on the tip, it would be the right consistency to use your Nutella frosting.

But if you have a straight curl, try softening it by adding 1 tbsp milk or whipped cream. Or, if it is so smooth, add a little more powdered sugar (1/4 cup at a time). You may also chill it in the refrigerator in 10-minute increments.

ingredients for nutella frosting:-

Salted Room Temperature ButterVanilla Essence
NutellaIcing Sugar (Sieved)
Milk

Salted butter:- always use room temperature butter because it perfectly goes with the Nutella. If it’s too hot, it will make your frosting so thin. I am using salted butter because I like some salty flavor in my frosting.

Vanilla:- it is just to increase the vanilla flavor in your frosting, and it is a complete option. Although Nutella also has a vanilla flavor, I like adding some extra.

Nutella:- you can easily find it in your nearby store. Just check out the expiration date. Or you can also use homemade Nutella.

Icing sugar:- it helps to give sweetness to the frosting, and also it helps to bind the ingredients.

Milk:- it helps to make your frosting thin. I usually use heavy cream, but I don’t have heavy cream. That’s why I used milk, although it also works really well.

If you want to make this Nutella frosting in advance for your next batch of cupcakes or if you have leftover Nutella frosting in both cases, you have to store your Nutella frosting properly.

An easy way would be to keep it in an airtight container to be stored in the refrigerator for 5 to 6 days.

Or if you make them in advance, divide all your frosting into some parts, put them in a ziplock bag, level them with the date, and freeze them for up to 3months.

Next time you are using it, first thaw your frosting correctly at room temperature, then beat them in the mixer before using it.
